Revelation 1:7 "Behold, he is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see him, every one who pierced him; and all tribes of the earth will wail on account of him. Even so. Amen."

Its not hard to jump from Easter to new life, spring is all around, and new life abounds. Its not hard to jump from Easter to new life, it has been traditionally tied to Baptism, and Baptism also is about new life. So its not hard to jump from Easter to the end of the world, for that also is about new life. We may not talk about it, but thatís not because Godís Word lacks the words. I suspect we donít talk about it chiefly because during spring, this life looks pretty good, and weíre not ready to give it up, in favor of a life to come.

Yet it is important to speak of Christís return, for it is near, and God want us to know the signs and the times so that we will be prepared. Jesus is coming, and every eye will see him. Thatís important, for in part it explains the events of the past week.

I think we all heard about a bomb that went of in Oklahoma City, it killed some people, some were children; and it was unexpected. It seems to have ties to David Koresh, some people thought he had been the Messiah, he was the leader of those who died 2 years ago in Wacco. But he was not the messiah, and he was not the first to claim to be. Many of us still remember Jim Jones and Guyana, he died with his followers. There are many others who claim to be the messiah, but they are not, for Jesus who came once in humility, will come again in glory and power, coming with the clouds, plainly so that everyone may see, and know.

And thatís important! Everyone will know, and everyone will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord to the glory of God. Even the devil will acknowledge Jesus lordship, for every knee shall bow, in heaven, on earth, and under the earth, and every tongue shall confess.... But this is not the confession of faith, or the confession which saves. This is the confession that God has judged justly, and that the salvation promised has been fulfilled. And though Christians look at the 2nd coming of Christ as a sign of hope and promise, and we look forward to the new heaven and the new earth, and to the place that Jesus has prepared for us.

Yet we know that heaven is ours, by grace through faith, it is a gift of God that he have not earned, yet is its ours in Jesus. But Heaven is not the only place that has been prepared, and so it is that some will see Jesus coming, and will wail, for they have not believed, they have not repented, they have refused the peace of God that passes understanding, and they will join the one they have followed in this life, the father of lies, in the everlasting torment of Hell.

None of this sounds like the god of love, who will forgive everyone, but thatís not the God of the Bible, but one we have created in our image, and is an idol and no real god. And so the Christian, who stands by the grace of God, can still say, about the end, even though some will perish. "Even so, Amen." Christians know that we are saved by grace through faith for Christís sake. Christians know that God in Christ has provided and full and complete salvation. Christians know that God has prepared a place, and will come to take us home. Christians know that they are the sons and daughters of God, and will one day dwell with God in peace. Christians know sin, but also know the way of repentance, and know the forgiveness that comes in Jesus blood.

And knowing all these things, and hearing that Jesus is coming, even to those who are not prepared, coming to those who will wail in terror at the coming of that day, Christians say with commitment, even so, come. Come because we will be faithful witnesses. Come because we will bring the gospel of repentance and forgiveness to the ends of the earth. Come because we will tell of the good news of salvation to every tribe, and every tongue. Come because we will work with you to advance your kingdom, some may not accept, some may not repent, some may not believe, but its not like they didnít hear, not like that didnít have the opportunity, not like they didnít have the time.... And its not like we didnít tell them that the end was near. Some people will never be ready, because they have already turned away from God, and refuse to repent.

Rev 3:11 I am coming soon; hold fast to what you have, so that no one may seize your crown.
Rev 22:20 "Surely I am coming soon." Amen. Come, Lord Jesus!
