John 10:26-28 you do not believe, because you do not belong to my sheep. My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me; and I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish, and no one shall snatch them out of my hand.
There are many things in life which are hard to understand, or are difficult to cope with. Its not hard to ask, Why? As people age, and their strength is not what it once was, its not hard for them to ask: Why am I here, what more is there that I am still able to do? What is my purpose, why has God given me this day. Some people insist on answers, and they only get more miserable, because the answers they receive do not satisfy. But it doesn’t have to be that way, there is a way which brings peace.
We have all heard that Jesus is the way, the truth and the life. We have heard that Jesus is the good shepherd. We have heard that Jesus gives eternal life. But is not remembering facts that saves, faith is a living thing, it is not something we create, but it is something God gives. Faith grasps hold of the promises of God, it doesn’t insist on answers – it simply trusts that as the Good Shepherd, our Savior will provide everything that is necessary.
